New Heart Newsletter August 2011
Last weekend, New Heart hosted it's annual Ministry Fair! If you didn't make it to the Ministry Fair or pickup a booklet, you can find out more right here about each of New Heart's ministries.
With everything that goes on in today's world, we need to be “armed and dangerous.” There is no better way to do this than to be plugged into New Heart's small group ministries. There is something for everyone so join us as a family and be “armed and dangerous” together. New Heart is creating relationships that are real and lasting.
Care and Share on Wednesdays: This is truly a ministry that is for everyone! Wednesday evening New Heart hosts dinner and study here at the church. Meals will begin again on September 7th. The meal is prepared for you, allowing you time to come from your busy lives to sit down and relax all while enjoying fellowship with one another and arming yourself by learning God's word. Wednesday Care and Share also includes classes for our children and teens. Meals are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children ages 3-12. Children under 3 are free. Meals are served at 6 PM, the study and each of the classes begin at 7 PM. It is important to have accurate attendance so that meals may be planned accordingly.
Ladies Tuesday Morning group is hosted at Ruthie McGuire's home at 9 AM. These ladies will be studying “Me, Myself and Lies: A thought closet makeover” by Jennifer Rothschild. This will be a weekly study experience plus a video session that encourages women to clean out the junk in their minds and replace hidden negative thoughts with positive truths from God's word. Thursday Night Touch is an in-depth study of God's word. Arm yourself with verse by verse study in First and Second Peter. This group meets at the Fuqua home in Mt. Juliet. This group takes turns providing dinner. Join them and have a wonderful time of fellowship as they eat, study and spend time in prayer.
Couples for Christ is a fellowship that is geared for new couples and couples with young children. This bible study, directed by Mason and Casey See is oriented around Biblical relationships and raising children. This study offers a variety of ways to connect whether through dinner, game nights or a night out on the town. Couples for Christ meets every other Sunday with a pot luck lunch after the 10:30 service. Child care is also provided for $2.50 per child.
New Heart Ladies Fellowship join together to “arm” themselves with Christian friendships. Ladies needs friends that are true and share the same values. This group is open to all New Heart Ladies. Generally, the ladies meet once a month maybe to go out to a restaurant, day trips, bowling, swimming or outings at each others homes. The ladies will get together in the spring for the Ladies retreat. All activities are promoted through email and bulletins. The Ladies will be eating at Painturo's and hitting the antique stores in Lebanon August 20th. Make plans to hang with the Ladies of New Heart!
New Heart Singles Ministry provides an opportunity for those who are single to fellowship with other believers. Once a month, this group gets together for good clean fun. The singles group is not looking to create the next hot date or dating website. NHCC Singles is a mix of people from all walks of life looking to have a good time with fellow believers and enjoy time with one another. The worship team is a collection of musicians and vocalists who have dedicated themselves in leading worship at New Heart. The worship is contemporary using the latest equipment such as instruments, video projection, computers, lights and sound to enhance New Heart's worship services. New Heart's praise team has a great time working together and playing music that lifts praise to our Lord. New Heart teen ministry has passionate and dedicated leaders whose purpose is to provide an environment that teaches our teens how to worship, minister, evangelize, fellowship, and disciple. These leaders are committed to these five principles through study, programs and events. All middle school and high school teens are invited to join this group on Sundays and Wednesday nights to seek God's word. Extreme Men's Group: This great group of men come together to challenge each other to be armed and dangerous with the word of God. They accomplish this through physical challenges, spiritual growth and accountability. It is their goal to be extreme men in every area of their lives as husbands, fathers, friends and especially followers of Christ. The Extreme Men meet every other Tuesday and also get together for cookouts, bowling, service projects and a prayer breakfast each month on Saturday mornings. Children grown and gone? The Empty Nest Party Group is for you. This group meets the last Friday of each month. The group may have dinner at someone's home, the church or in downtown Nashville! This is a time to laugh, tell stories and to share life experiences. Each couple takes turns hosting the evening. There are many people in this stage of life that may be looking for new friends and new things to do now that the children are all grown. New Heart Riders get together every month for a ride to dinner. All motorcycles are welcome. If you enjoy wind in your face, good people and safe riding, then hook up with them on their next trip. This is a great opportunity to reach out to those who may love to ride, but may be unsure about church. Sometimes rides may be planned with short notice when the weather allows. There are many ways to get involved at New Heart. Again, there is something for everyone! Opportunities include nursery, helping with classes, greeting, hospitality, cleaning, cooking for those in need and providing snacks for the youth. If you are interested in helping in any of these ministries or would like to get involved in small groups, contact Caryl Strange, Ryan Stapleton, Richard Kearney or a small group leader. Biker Sunday is right around the corner. New Heart will be hosting this unique event September 25th. Everything about Biker Sunday will be biker oriented including music from Tribe prior to Sunday's service. Please join us and invite your riding friends.
New Heart Outreach:
Kroger cards are on sale now. These cards are only $5 and come with $5 on them for you to use at Kroger stores or at the gas pumps. Reload them and use them anytime. For every $100 spent, Kroger will make a donation to the New Heart Youth. This is an awesome way to support our youth in all the things they do to build relationships that are real and lasting!
