A New Heart

New Heart is a church where the entire community can see and build life long relationships.  The Heart is truly a church family, so we make it our prerogative to ensure people feel welcomed and at ease when they walk in our doors.  We are convinced that building personal relationships that are real and lasting can be the first step to developing a life-long relationship with God.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out our web site.  My name is Caryl Strange.  I am Lead Pastor of New Heart Christian Church.  Since our launch in 2004 it has been an awesome journey.  My wife Phyllis and I have been in ministry for over 35 years and we have seen God do some amazing things.  I would have to say that planting this Church has to be at the top of the meter as far as excitement goes.

We have been blessed with three wonderful children and four awesome grandchildren. Our daughter Amie is married to Matt and reside in Georgia with their two children.  Our next oldest is Matthew who is married to Amanda live in South Carolina with their two children.  Our youngest son Michael served several tours of duty in Afghanistan as a Marine and is now a student at MTSU.

God has been good to Phyllis and I as we have been privileged to serve Him over the years.  I look forward to New Heart becoming a very strong body heavily involved in the cities of Mt. Juliet and Lebanon.

Check out our worship service and see how we can help you connect with God, and other people.

Richard has had a 20 plus year career as a professional music producer.  His path to being at New Heart has been an interesting one - but ultimately he knows it was the Will of God.

He served on the worship team at Lakeshore Christian Church for nearly 15 years and 5 years at Franklin Christian Church.  It has been his privilege to serve at New Heart as Worship Director since June of 2009.

A graduate from Belmont College (now University) in ’89 with a BA in Business (Music Business) he is an audio production professional.  He has produced music for a large variety of independent artists and writers along with many local, regional and national ad-music campaigns.  Also produced, performed, recorded, and written advertising music for companies like O’Charley, Caterpillar, John Deere, Seadoo, IGA, and many, many others.  His greatest production/musical honor was a Grammy Nominated Audio Book titled, “The Man Called Cash” narrated by the acclaimed songwriter/actor Kris Kristofferson.

On the personal side Richard has been married to his wife Vicky for over 20 years and has  one son Ryan.  Richard and his family have resided in the Mt. Juliet area since 2007.

I can never thank The Lord enough for the parents he blessed me with. Being a preacher’s kid I grew up in ministry. Serving with my family was the best training I could have ever received as a Christian. When I was a teenager we made a shift however and I became a missionary kid. Moving to New Zealand was a challenging yet wonderful direction The Lord led us in and was a life changing experience. Upon moving back to America on my own and starting a business in Hendersonville, TN life was just beginning for me. I cannot imagine making this far without the faithfulness I learned through my parents. Their desire to see me become a man of God is the same desire we have for our youth at New Heart. From your youngest child to your know-it-all teenager we want to see the seed of faithfulness grow within your child’s heart. So bring your kids and let them experience what being a child of God is all about. Let them grow relationships that are Real and Lasting.

Train up a child in the way he should go;

even when he is old he will not depart from it.

—Proverbs 22:6
